Alainn Fion
Alainn Fion is Gaelic for 'beautiful wine' and pays homage to the Irish ancestry of our winemaker Matt O'Leary. Each year, small, but special, parcels of fruit are chosen. The emphasis being that the wines must be a great expression of both their variety and where they were grown.
The Chardonnay fruit has been chosen from a well-established vineyard in the Piccadilly Valley sub-region of the Adelaide Hills. This wine has been named in honour of Matt's father, Justin Bernard O'Leary, as a thank you to the joy he brought to others through his love of Irish music.
The Grenache came from a small vineyard in the Barossa Valley just east of Tanunda. As a soft yet rich variety, the wine has been named in honour of Matt's mother, Pamela Juanita O'Leary, who while appearing as a soft touch was always a rich and strong maternal influence.
